Magic Carpet Ride - Blog Day ‘07

magic rug“Well, you don’t know what we can find
Why don’t you come with me little girl

On a magic carpet ride
You don’t know what we can see”
Magic Carpet Ride ~ Steppenwolf (1968)

*Video Note — These guys are all old enough to be my dad, but I had no idea that one of the band members (blonde one in the caftan thing) was so amazingly gorgeous! I wonder which guy my mom liked. Hmm. Jim Carrey-like lead singer, golden caftan boy, or electric socket hair guy?*

Blog Day 2007

Today is the 3rd annual Blog Day event. The idea is to go out and find five new-to-me blogs. I had a ton of fun finding the blogs I am showcasing here, and all of them I have read for the very first time today.

So hop on my super magical blog surfing rug and let me show you what we can find.

  • Outta The Coop: A Day In The Life Of ‘The Chick’ — I came across this blog because I liked the avatar she uses on MyBlogLog. The avatar is great, but the blog is even better. A very honest, interesting and enjoyable read.
  • The Laidback Buddhist – Joanne is an University student that writes so well and so engagingly, that I found myself reading her blog for a couple hours this morning. She is the kind of blogger/writer that I want to be, but never will, because I think you have to be born with this kind of talent. I’m hooked on the Laidback Buddhist!
  • Angry Seafood — A jewel of a blog I discovered by clicking a link on a comment left on the Frog Bog Blog. Chris is a writer/humorist and it appears his blog came to life the same month mine did. He writes better and is way funnier, so go over there and give him some love. If you like humor blogs, you’ll love this one.
  • The Painted Veil – This blogger visited me for the first time today. We had been hearing about each other around the blogosphere and just hadn’t yet visited each other’s blog homes. I’m glad she came by, because her blog is a really wonderful place to spend some time. A lot of beautiful things to look at here.
  • First Time Dad — This delightful blog by first-time dad Adrian is full of fun. His daughter is adorable and about the same age as my #6 baby boy. He has a great personality that really comes through his writing. I enjoy all the descriptions of life in Malaysia too.
